ORA Singers new Christmas release, The Mystery of Christmas, entered the classical specialist charts in the UK at No. 1. The group’s 5th album hit the shelves on the 16th November and features a mix of medieval carols and modern works, including pieces by James Macmillan & Cecilia McDowall, and Morten Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium. Reviews for the album have been ecstatic:
"First things first. If you want to hear Morten Lauridsen’s setting of his wildly popular O magnum mysterium the way it should be heard, this performance by Suzi Digby and her ORA Singers is the one–surely the most affecting and successful among more than a few dozen recorded and live performances I’ve heard, most of which were very fine."
David Vernier, ClassicsToday.com (USA)
"... if you appreciate a journey into the mystery of the Incarnation that dares to be different then this could be the best contemporary choral release of the year."
Steven Whitehead, CrossRhythms (UK)
"Der ist auch besser aufgehoben bei solch lupenreinem Chorgesang wie dem der Ora Singers unter Suzi Digby. Ihr phänomenales Weihnachtsalbum wagt den Spagat zwischen Renaissance und Neuer Musik."
Carsten Hinrichs, Rondo (Germany)
