ORA Singers hits the red carpet at Germany's biggest Classical Music Awards!
The ORA Singers team travelled to Berlin last weekend to receive their Opus Klassik award for Ensemble of the Year. The awards ceremony was an amazing celebration of international artists, and included live performances from Diana Damrau, Juan Diego Flórez, Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Abba's very own Benny Andersson!
The ceremony was broadcast live on ZDF from a beautiful and packed-out Berlin Konzerthaus, where the ORA team was joined by harmonia mundi's German office. ORA's Artistic Director, Suzi Digby, received the award on behalf of the group, and also took the opportunity to talk to some of Germany's major leading classical music journalists about ORA's upcoming album release, The Mystery of Christmas.
Chief Executive, Matthew Beale, commented:
"It has been a huge honour to receive this award, which we won for our third album release, Many are the Wonders. I want to send out a sincere and heartfelt thank-you to all those who have supported, donated to, listened to and followed our work, without whom this album would never have been made. I also want to thank our amazing singers and ORA-commissioned composers; this Award is testament to them, an international recognition of their incredible talents and a just reward for everybody's hard work and dedication!"
